First off, to my PA peeps. If you knew the band Sideshow Bob, and have any of their CDs (Untucked, Have We Met, Dig The New Steps) and would be willing to share, PLEASE let me know. Untucked is the one I want the most though. If I can't find it like this, I'm going to have to send a random email to their former lead singer to ask him for it. Strange but true, especially since I don't know him.
Let us take a moment and reflect on the impact of music in our lives. Preach that!
This morning driving in, I was treated to the first song I knew of Ozzy, Shot in the Dark. I immediately fell in love with this song after hearing it only one time. Vox dosen't want to upload songs right now for me, so I can't share any Ozzy. Boo. But it's Friday and payday, so ROCO!
Some days, I wanna ROCO, and entertain you, but my mind just isn't in it. Today is one of those days. So, on this ROCO payday, I leave you with wishes for an excellent weekend. One that gives you the warm and fuzzies and makes for great stories on Mount Up Monday!

]]>So I was looking at this old profile of mine from classmates and came across this poem. Made me chuckle.
School
high school
schmigh school
ain't no big thing

]]>well, that's because I'M WORKING AT THE LIBRARY! Yes, myself and 20 other teenagers toil away every day working as "pages". Huh? What? Pages???? If you can sing the alphabet, you can do this job. Basicallly, ALL we do is shelve books, neaten books, and return books to their proper sections. We cannot answer questions about books, questions about where to find books, or even check out books. There are other paid employees for that. Ten hours a week for ten dollars an hour.
Sound dull? you bet! Monotonous, quiet, soothing, relaxing, if there are rambunctious children, not my problem. If someone needs help, not my problem. If someone has to go to the bathroom, not my problem. ALL I have to worry about is books.
Plus, since I love books (boy do I love books, I literally have been coming home with stacks of books, just because I can-no fines) ha ha! I would love to get locked in, in a blizzard.
So, that is my new job. Me and a bunch of teenagers. I suddenly, after having children have become "the old lady".
I'm sure that this new job is going to provide lots of fodder for blogging. I have to get up to speed, and get to know the cast of characters before the "crazy, funny, sarcastic, loud, silly" person inside me gets to come out.

I have just finished the most extraordinary book, England's Mistress, the Infamous Life of Emma Hamilton
Emma was born in 1765 in the most dire of circumstances and became the most famous woman of her time. She moved to London on her own when she was 12! She was the Paris Hilton of the eighteenth century, everyone knew of her. She had an extraordinary life, eventually moving to Naples and hobnobbing with Marie Antoinette's sister, the Queen of Italy.
She was
a sought after artist's model for a time and because of that, images
of her were everywhere.
She became mistress to Admiral Horatio
Nelson and eventually bore him a daughter. What is so fascinating is
the portrayal of the times and the way people lived their lives. The
stuff about Nelson was remarkable, he was a tiny man with one arm, a
torn ear, no front teeth, scars all over and she was absolutely smitten
with him as was ALL of Britain. The fashion was to wear clothes with
his image on them, anchors and his name emblazoned everywhere. He was a
superstar. 
Emma worked as a courtesan for a while as one of the "Kelly" girls.

makeup was the fashion and there was a law passed that men could
divorce their wives if they could prove she fooled him into marriage
using her make up to hide her age or ugliness!
Courtesans were the most heavily painted.
First there was a layer of cold cream and then a heavy layer of white lead(!) paint.(sometimes mixed with vinegar)
Eyebrows were shaved off and replaced with false one made of mouse skins darkened with lead.
Cheeks were ornamented with beauty spots cut out of silk and glued on in various colours.
Mouth was coated with a dilution of red plaster of paris.
Painted blue cream on eyelids
Cheeks were rouged brightly with mercury sulphide.
Teeth were sometimes whitened with plaster of paris or chalk!
Despite all of this, the nails were left unadorned.
Orange water or rose was used as perfume.
The hair styles were elaborate and HIGH. the hair stylists had waiting lists months long. They took three to four hours to create styles three feet high abd added fake pearls, feathers, flowers, models of houses and boats! The styles were kept for three months and then redone. It was common to have infestations of lice, bugs and sometimes even mice!! This fashion was started in 1765 and was most extreme in the 1780's. Women had special head rests to sleep on and when they went outside they wrapped their do's in gauze.
Fake boobs were made of cloth or porcelain and they even had fake bottoms and hips made of cork.
Can you say slave to fashion? I cannot imagine.
Anyway the book is a fascinating read and I would recommend it.

]]>One of the first things an American traveler in Great Britain notices is all the very small cars! In our neighborhood at home, the prototypical vehicle is some variety of SUV. But the cars one immediately notices after landing at Heathrow are little ones, designed for basic transportation.
