The new baby is winning, she has my son right where she wants him.....

Born yesterday evening.... still waiting for my son to send more, I cannot go near her yet, I'm still ill, but isn't she pretty? She had a slight problem during the night, they are checking her out.... more info to come.
Update: Mommy Karyn had a rough 30 hour delivery, and when they were looking the baby over they found blood in her stomach, so she was taken to the NIUC unit for observation. NEC or Necrotizing Enterocolitis can occur in preemies and also in big babies whose delivery is difficult. Now they think she just swallowed some blood during the delivery, no sign or intestinal perforation, no increases in the amount of blood in her stomach, and it seems to be going away. They are keeping her in the unit through tonight to watch her...better safe than sorry. She already has daddy wrapped around her little fingers, he is insisting on staying with her all night. He is now sporting a whole new appreciation for the birthing process.... this fatherhood thing is going to be VERY good for him.
Not for me directly, but for me indirectly.... my son gifted me with a grand daughter a few minutes ago. Madelyn, 8 pounds, 9 1/2 ounces, and a full head of hair, that's all I know other than the fact she took her sweet time making her debut.... they have been at the hospital and in active labor since 7pm yesterday...so over 24 hours. Ah, the force is strong in this one..... so is the stubbornness. Must be related to me ;p
